It seems like everyone wants to be in Europe in the summertime, and that high demand usually leads to high prices.
But it is possible to visit Europe during peak season without breaking the bank, and you can even do it with the convenience of an all-inclusive package.
All-inclusive resorts are my guilty pleasure.
They’re so easy and convenient. And what’s not to love about ordering a cocktail whenever you want without having to pay for it?
But where will you find the best value? UK consumer magazine Which? has undertaken extensive research and found that these are the 10 cheapest European destinations for an all-inclusive vacation this summer.
5. Bourgas Area, Bulgaria
Bulgaria is something of a newcomer in the world of all-inclusive resorts, but it’s exploded in popularity in recent years.
Known for its beautiful beaches as well as for being an incredibly affordable vacation destination, the Bourgas area is famed for its all-inclusive resorts, particularly in the Sunny Beach area.
As the name suggests, you’ll find incredible beaches here, but if you want to experience some Bulgarian culture, then you could also explore Ravadinovo Castle.
This is a fairytale-style castle that looks ancient but wasn’t actually constructed until 1996.
Its gardens are particularly beautiful, with thousands of exotic plants and flowers.
Admission costs 15 euros ($15.61) per person, with a 10% discount if you book online in advance.
4. Dalaman Area, Turkey
If your idea of a perfect vacation is to relax on the beach, soaking up the rays of the blazing sun, then Dalaman is the perfect option for you.
Temperatures here in July and August are hotter than any other destination on this list.
What I love about Dalaman is that it offers the perfect mix of poolside relaxation, watersports and adventure activities, and cultural exploration.
Don’t miss the chance to visit Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area.
And you can also explore the Sultaniye Hot Springs and mud baths.
These springs are said to have healing properties while also being great for your skin.
They have the highest rate of radioactivity of any naturally occurring springs in the country.
3. Tenerife, Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are considered the islands of eternal sunshine.
The weather is always warm here, and the sea temperatures are always above 20°C (68°F) (no matter what the time of year), so swimming in the sea in the summer feels like taking a bath.
The most visited island in the Canary Islands chain is Tenerife, and the main benefit of this is that the island is packed full of excellent all-inclusive resorts.
Tenerife is home to both black and white sand beaches and an amazing mountain range backdrop.
Top Tip: Often resorts on the Canary Islands will say they’re a ‘beach front property’ when actually they’re a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Do your research and look for a resort with ’direct beach access’ so you can hear the sea from your balcony!
2. Fuerteventura, Canary Islands
I’ve written here before about my love for the Canary Islands in general and Fuerteventura specifically.
So it’s exciting to read this: the island is also one of this summer’s cheapest all-inclusive destinations!
I recommend choosing an all-inclusive resort in Corralejo, which is my favorite part of the island.
This is only a 45-minute drive from the airport and close to the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park.
These are the biggest sand dunes in Europe, and they’re breathtakingly beautiful while being fringed by incredible turquoise waters.
The surfing here is excellent, too (the best in the islands), and due to its popularity with surfers, Correlejo has a laid-back vibe and an excellent nightlife scene.
Because Fuerteventura isn’t as busy with tourists as the other Canary Islands of Tenerife or Gran Canaria, you’ll also find that the people here are friendly and welcoming.
Friendly locals and welcoming staff make a huge difference to the quality of an all-inclusive vacation!
1. Costa Blanca, Spain
The Costa Blanca sometimes has a bad reputation thanks to its abundance of raucous all-inclusive resorts.
But this is an incredibly beautiful section of Spain’s vast coastline and a great place to visit.
It is also officially the most affordable all-inclusive destination in Europe.
The beaches are one of the biggest attractions here. If you love swimming or water sports, then it’s a great place to be.
You’ll find long stretches of golden sands, secluded coves, and clear waters, as well as an abundance of Blue Flag-recognized beaches.
Benidorm is the most well-known resort town on the Costa Blanca, but if you want to get off the beaten path then you could explore charming fishing villages like Jávea instead.
There are also unique mountain villages surrounding this region that make a great escape from the bustling beaches.
