Perched on the highest ground of the bustling RathausGalerien procuring centre, Lichtblick is a café by day and a restaurant by evening. With panoramic views of Innsbruck’s rooftops and the encircling Alps, this seventh-floor haven is aptly named: a “ray of light” illuminating town’s eating scene.

The meals
Lichtblick’s delicacies combines Austrian custom with Mediterranean attraction and a touch of Asian intrigue, and had moved to a brand new menu the evening earlier than our go to. In reality, diners can choose from three thoughtfully curated menus the place every course is designed to enhance each other, however it’s possible you’ll substitute programs from different menus if you want (as you’ll see we did with the dessert from menu 1).
We primarily opted for menus 2 and three, and I’m going to let the photographs doing the speaking right here…
Poached wild-caught prawns with candy potatoes, child chard, blood orange-grapefruit salad & aioli Medium uncommon roasted fillet of spanish duroc pork with potato cake, black salsify & sage jusWalnut éclair on crème patisserie, caramelized nuts & buttermilk ice cream

Roasted breast of pigeon with la ratte potatoes, raspberry gel, tarragon French dressing, darkish chocolate & raspberry jus

The head chef is Andreas Zeindlinger though at Lichtblick he’s billed because the Kitchen Art Director.

The atmosphere
Other than coming into a procuring centre to get there, you wouldn’t know you’re on prime of a business constructing. The environment is vibrant but intimate, and busy but composed. Adjacent to the restaurant, the 360° wine bar and lounge, which is underneath the identical administration, provides an elegant retreat, good for a pre-dinner aperitif or post-meal digestif. Being in such a lofty location, there’s a superb view available, whether or not it’s day or evening. Our desk missed the Rathaus Glockenturm (Town Hall Clock Tower).

Everything you have to plan your journey in 2024
The price
The three menus vary in value from €48 to €58, with the choice so as to add a cheese course for €14.80.
The remaining verdict
Lichtblick is a celebration of flavour and creativity. With dishes that shock and an atmosphere that hums with power, it is a restaurant you’ll undoubtedly need to go to subsequent time you might be in Innsbruck.
