Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas Completes Sea Trials

Royal Caribbean’s second Icon-class vessel, Star of the Seas, has efficiently accomplished sea trials.

The shipbuilder, Meyer Turku, stated on Facebook “Star of the Seas completed her sea trials in record time and returned to the shipyard on the morning of Tuesday, May 27th. Star spent a total of eight days at sea, during which all systems were thoroughly tested. All tests were completed successfully.”

Over the course of 11 days, the ship was put to the take a look at as over 2,000 consultants from the naval structure, engineering, navigation, and design fields carried out a variety of technical examinations to make sure that it’s able to set sail with visitors. Everything from how the ship strikes by means of open water to engine efficiency limits and extra have been examined.

And the ocean trials have been an awesome success. Project Manager Jaakko Leinonen stated “These were the best sea trials I have ever participated in. There was a strong sense of team spirit throughout. Now it’s time to focus on completing the remaining work on the ship.”

Star of the Seas has now formally entered the ultimate part of development on the Meyer Turku shipyard. While working programs at the moment are practical, ending work continues forward of the vessel’s August debut.

This mega ship, which is the biggest cruise ship on this planet, is a successor to the wildly-successful first ship within the Icon-class, Icon of the Seas. It will boast seven swimming swimming pools, plenty of water slides, and over 40 eating places, bars, and lounges unfold throughout eight distinct “neighborhoods.”

Star of the Seas shall be based mostly in Port Canaveral, Florida, providing year-round seven-night voyages to the japanese and western Caribbean.
