Royal Caribbean International has introduced that musical icon Diana Ross shall be godmother of its latest mega ship, Star of the Seas.
This August, Ross will be a part of a longstanding maritime custom when she takes the stage to bestow safekeeping onto the ship, its crew, and visitors who sail on board. Star of the Seas’ naming ceremony will happen within the AquaTheater, positioned within the vessel’s AquaDome neighborhood surrounded by ocean views.
“I am truly honored to join the Royal Caribbean family,” stated Diana Ross. “Having spent years of creating beautiful music and memories and bringing people together from all over the world, this feels like a perfect continuation of my journey as godmother of Star of the Seas.”

Star of the Seas will sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, working seven-night voyages to the japanese and western Caribbean.
